I am so happy I have to share!
First, I finally got rid of the 5 pounds I put on after screwing with my metabolism....so the new/old diet plan is working better for me WOOHOO!!!!!!
Second I had my fitness test today (my end of session test)..and I ROCKED IT! So super excited to see my results on paper (update coming in a few days)...but there were three key tests within the whole test that I had failed the first time 12 weeks ago. Keep in mind when I hired my trainer, my whole left side and lower core were not only weak but inactive from the herniated disc issue. So needless to say of course I failed most of the test..I wasn't surprised by the results, but it wasn't long ago that I was squatting 195 lbs and benching my own weight so to see and feel me so weak was disheartening to say the least......and it seemed hopeless......but I was confident and secretly praying to a God I don't believe in that she could help me, if not to get me back into weight training shape at least be able straighten me up and have me walking properly again.
I don't have the official test results yet, but she said I did awesome and I passed all three of my areas of concern...she's done a wonderful job of reactivating everything, stabilizing my body and straightening me enough to walk straight, and improve my flexibility...without those key things weight training would have been impossible! I am now on the road to strengthening everything..and hopefully get back at it enough to compete..
I am sooooo excited I could jump up and down and scream...!!!!! YAY!!!!!!
Final before and after pics to come as well....I can't wait to see how far I can go!

Gym Pet Peeve!
Okay, I gotta vent! I run into this ALL the time and today it really got to me..
I go to the gym everyday, I believe in gym etiquette, and I think we all should respect one another while there. We all need to use the machines, we all need to get out workout done, and some of us have a time limit. What ticks me off is when ppl insist on sitting on the machines between sets, for what seems like forever! Or get annoyed when I ask if I can jump in between sets...you don't own the freaking machine or bench or whatever PAL! This goes along with those people (mostly punk ass little boys) who seem to think they own the gym and everything in it. When they aren't hogging the machines they spread out the benches in the free weight space and make sure two or three of them use all the equipment then stand there chit chatting, texting, or worse just wandering around in small circles like lost puppies, wasting time and making it virtually impossible for anyone else to get into that area! ARRRGGGG!
okay..done venting..but seriously...I go to the gym, I superset, I don't sit or stand around in the way of others, I always allow others to share the machines, and most importantly I wipe off the machines EVERY time! I guess to expect others to treat you and the space with respect would be like expecting all the drivers on the road to know the rules...HAHAHA....another pet peeve...but that I will save for a different post!
I am glad that tomorrow's workout I can do at home....(which is difficult in itself in many ways)
Happy Lifting! Train smart..eat clean!
Ciao

Not just Plateau..but actually gain??!!??
I am always discussing the importance of getting the right amount of calories, and the right amount of macronutrients..a lot of ppl out there still cannot get passed the "eat more, burn more" theory and typically eat too little calories for their body. I myself always preach the importance of staying above 1200 net calories a day for women...but as I have recently learned and so may many of you, sometimes this isn't enough.
I started out on a calories/carb cycling plan..got amazing results....my calorie intake ranged from 1600-1400 net calories a day and my carbs from 230gram to 100 grams a day..at the time I was happy with the results, but then decided to change it up a little and follow a much stricter plan, based on my workout intensity.
The first week seemed okay, still losing and keeping my calories in the 1200 range.
By week two...the loss stopped, I was the same as the week before..even slightly higher, in both, weight, msmts and even BF%... chalked it up to girlie issues and kept going..after the 3rd week, the increase was noticeable and I began to worry..so I relaxed a little and took a few weeks off...
Now, when you restrict your body too much, it not only fights back, but when you give it what it wants it goes nuts in terms of putting on the weight and storing fat...so after my 2 weeks of "relaxing" I put on more than half of what I had lost, and some of my msmts were almost back to where they were at the beginning of this fat loss journey...I realized then that the 1200 net calories and the super strict carb cycling wasn't for me...and started back to the first plan....hoping that my body will readjust and take a liking to this plan like it did the first time.
The moral of this story....experiment, see what works best for you....what works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for everyone, don't get discouraged if something doesn't work, keep trucking and find what does!
I will keep you posted on the results of returning to more effective fat burning plan.
